The first thing you’re going to do is to get to know your classmates by making a crossword puzzle using their names in the puzzle and writing something about them as the clues.
Step One – Write a Blog Post About Yourself
If other people are going to write a clue about you, they need to be able to go somewhere to find information about you.
Here are some of the things you can include:
- Places you visited during the summer
- Other cities you’ve lived in
- How many brothers and sisters you have
- Pets you have/ had
- Sports teams you’ve played on
- Hobbies/ special interests
- Favorite sport/team/athlete
- Favorite movie you saw this summer/ of all time
- Favorite book you read this summer/ of all time
- Favorite song/ singer
- Favorite TV show
When you’re done, copy what you wrote, log in to Kidblog and paste your writing. Add a title, then publish.
Step Two – Write Clues
After you finish your blog post, start reading other people’s blogs and start writing clues. Make sure you have at least one clue for each person in the class. You can start by typing it in the Google Doc that’s linked in Classroom or you can write it on paper and type it later.
When you type it, make sure it’s according to the format required by the Instant Online Crossword Puzzle Maker website:
word / clue
For example, if I were making a crossword about states, my entries would look like this:
Delaware / The first state.
Rhode Island / The only state with two unique words in its name.
